Welcome to the Reporting and Analytics Platform team at Workday! We are responsible for scaling the reporting and analytics engine to query and operate on large volumes of transactions for critically important business needs, interactive analytics and background extractions.

About the Role

We are looking for an incredible engineer to join Analytics’ backend execution engine team. The engine runs in a cloud based multi-tenanted architecture and processes more than 2.5 billion report executions monthly (growing 40% YOY). You will be focusing on scaling the engine for the largest HCM and FIN customers in the world as well as working on next generation of the engine. If you are looking for challenge, come join us!

About You

You love working on complex technical projects with some unknowns

​​You are passionate about reporting tools and functionality that solve customer problems

You enjoy researching new ideas and ensuring those contribute to our customers' experience

You have experience with Java systems

You care about customer satisfaction and solving customer problems

You are enthusiastic about code quality and advocate for the best development practices

You are an excellent teammate and enjoy working with team members and collaborating across teams to build new solutions

You are eager to learn Workday technologies, like Xpresso.

Basic Qualifications

• 7+ years using any of the following programming languages: Java, Scala, C++, Go, or Rust

• 3+ years development experience in relevant domain areas (e.g. database internals, distributed system application, JVM performance tuning, Cloud/SaaS Services, etc.)

Other Qualifications

Superb communication skills. Ability to articulate sophisticated technical ideas

Proven experience building and delivering high-performance processing

Ability to mentor junior engineers

Highly motivated to determine how things work

Good grasp of SQL

Ability to connect business needs with technology

Masters or Bachelors in Computer Science

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
