About the Team

The Software Development Engineer in Test team for Workday Analytics is a diverse group of engineers. We spend our time writing software to break software and increase development productivity. At the core, we are responsible for the quality of the software that we ship, and we take pride in doing so. We build and scale our test infrastructure to match the growth of our product, keeping them fast, reliable, and robust, from end to end. We use proprietary and open-source automated testing tools to support our rapid and continuous development/test/deployment release cycles.

About the Role

As part of this team, you will ensure that the quality of our products exceeds the expectations of our customers. Your expertise in automated testing of highly interactive web application and large-scale distributed systems will help transform the way we collect, view, and analyze enterprise data. The work we do is technical, challenging, and interesting. We are looking for test engineers who have a quality mindset, love to break software, automate testing and who want to understand how parts work together to make the Workday system function.

  • You will be validating the various aspects of the data using high quality visualization and always ready to challenge the results

  • Own the end-to-end delivery of the feature starting from planning, execution, and automation

  • You will be working closely with highly skilled developers and designers

  • Be fearless in raising concerns when quality is not as expected

  • Testing and validating the application through back end APIs

  • Develop automation test scripts using WATS, proprietary automation framework

  • Build and maintain framework and inventory of automated test suite

  • Primary point of contact for triaging automation failures and bring them to a resolution

  • Collect automation failure metrics, analyze root cause, and recommend corrective measures

  • Develop expertise in our product solutions, and use that expertise and your experience to help design and qualify the solution as a whole

This position is based out of our Vancouver office. We operate with a hybrid model.

About You

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4+ years working as an SDET with automation experience in backend, API.

  • 4+ years experience in functional testing and testing processes

  • 4+ years programming in Java, Python, Scala, C, or C#.

  • 2+ years using multiple automation frameworks (e.g. TestNG, JUnit, Selenium, Typescript, Robot, Pytest, etc.)

  • 1+ year using CI/CD tools (e.g. Bamboo, Jenkins, GitLab, TeamCity, etc.)

Other Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field

  • Experience in performance testing is a plus

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things.
