About the Team

Welcome to the Security Products organization at Workday! We are dynamic and innovative team dedicated to delivering a unified data driven security platform for Workday that delight our customers while protecting customer identities and data. We are a fast-paced team responsible for building highly scalable, performant data solutions that securely manage customer and user data across the multitude of Workday products.

About the Role

As a Software Engineering Manager within Workday's Security Products Organization, you will be a key player in leading a team of software engineers while working with teams to build and deliver software solutions. You will be responsible for fostering collaboration, and ensuring timely delivery of exceptional software products. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of software development, and proficiency in data streaming technologies and object-oriented languages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership to multiple software development teams, ensuring cohesion, and motivation while fostering a culture of excellence.

  • Technical Expertise: Utilize your experience in Kafka or related data streaming technologies, as well as your knowledge of Java, Kotlin, or other object-oriented languages to guide and support your teams.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, other engineering managers, and multi-functional teams to ensure the alignment of development efforts with company objectives.

  • Communication: Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills to convey complex technical ideas effectively to different stakeholders.

  • Project Management: Be adept at estimating technical work and timelines, and help prioritize sprint work across teams to meet deadlines and keep projects on track

About You

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced software engineering manager to join our team. If you are a strong leader with a passion for delivering high-quality software and managing teams effectively, we want you to be a part of our growing family!

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 5+ years of software development experience.

  • 2+ years of experience in a management role.

Other Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Kafka or related data streaming technologies.

  • Strong knowledge of Java, Kotlin, or other object-oriented languages.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proven ability to lead and motivate engineering teams.

  • Strong project management, prioritization, and time management skills.

  • Strong technical background with a passion for staying up-to-date with industry trends.

  • Knowledge of identity management systems and SCIM is a plus


Workday Pay Transparency Statement

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Recruiters can share more detail during the hiring process. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. Primary Location Base Pay Range: $142,400 USD - $213,600 USD


Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $135,300 USD - $254,400 USD
