About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to own an area considered to be the backbone of the Extend platform- one of the fastest growing products at Workday. The role will manage the App Lifecycle product area, so we are looking for somebody that has a high degree of functional understanding and technical knowledge. You should have a firm understanding of the developer perspective in managing the lifecycle of an application and the abilty to work in detail with engineers on sophisticated concepts. You should be motivated by understanding the sophisticated needs of our developer community with the drive to deliver solutions that make a real difference. You have proven success as an outstanding communicator, with the ability to explain sophisticated concepts in an easy to understand manner and as a storyteller. The role will work closely our own engineering team, a high level of organization is required. Again, a technical background is essential for success as our user base is developers.

Responsibilities

  • Understand customer needs and platform capabilities to own the product roadmap & strategy.

  • Lead multiple important initiatives at the same time; delivering key outcomes on time and with exceptionally high quality.

  • Collaborate with customers, architecture and engineering to set priorities and expectations; then follow through with delivery.

  • Drive product development with a team of world-class engineers and designers

  • Spur innovation in a sophisticated and constantly evolving problem space

  • Explain how product capabilities drive value for our customers to a broad audience- from internal developers to critical customers

  • Technical savvy to understand complex issues and make good decisions in a fast-paced environment.

  • Be the voice of the customer for our product and voice of the product to our customers.

About You

We are seeking a good fit for the responsibilities listed above, as well as the basic and other qualifications listed below.

Basic Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in the role of Product Manager or Technical Product Manager

  • Demonstrated ability of working in building platforms for developers as engineer and/or product manager.

  • Demonstrated experience influencing and leading across multiple technical and product teams

Other Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success managing the complete product lifecycle, including identifying business challenges, researching customer requirements, prototyping innovative solutions, collaborating with design and engineering teams, and prioritizing Agile development tasks.

  • Ability to clearly prioritize and articulate product requirements, as well as develop a vision and strategy for area of ownership

  • Ability to break down complex concepts using strong problem solving skills

  • Solid organizational skills, attention to detail, exceptional communication and presentation skills, and validated ability to lead and deliver projects within a given timeline and budget.

  • A naturally collaborative approach that empowers you to gain the support and cooperation of colleagues.

  • Demonstrated history of true ownership and accountability growing a product area.

  • Enjoyment of your craft - you want to learn and grow with other Product Managers.


Workday Pay Transparency Statement - United States

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations in the United States (US) are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Recruiters can share more detail during the hiring process. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. Primary Location Base Pay Range: $157,600 - $236,400


Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $131,100 - $236,400
