About the Team

The Interactive Data Prep team designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs our data processing platform for improvements and new products across multiple fields. Our responsibility includes designing and implementing software able to help building data pipeline with interactive and intuitive UI. We also develop, design and deploy software and tools in support of a data processing system, including highly concurrent transaction processing, distributed memory management, communication protocols, and efficient distributed data algorithms.

About the Role

Working as part of the Interactive Data Prep team at Workday's Prism Analytics:

  • You will get opportunities to build, enhance and extend parallel and distributed data processing engines in the cloud

  • You will work with an outstanding team to design and implement enterprise-grade features on top of the distributed Spark data processing engines

  • You will be responsible for building scalable and robust data platform that enable interactive experience over complex data pipelines with large data volume

About You

You are an engineer who is passionate about distributed data processing frameworks and algorithms, take pride in building algorithms and products that's scalable and efficient.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience as a software engineer

  • 4+ years of coding in Java, C++ or Scala

Other Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or greater in Computer Science

  • Linux expertise

  • Basic understanding of writing SQL queries

  • Experience with distributed system, cloud or database is preferable

  • Performance, scalability and reliability of these algorithms are not an afterthought

  • Experience with Spark is preferable

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations in the United States (US) are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $112,500 - $204,000
