The Enterprise Architect role operates in Presales on the Office of the CIO (oCIO) team. Our team of technology experts help prospects across North America to modernize their administrative systems by moving to the Workday Cloud Platform. Our team works strategically with Federal, Government (State/Local), Higher Education, Healthcare, & Non Profit organizations. Experience working in or with these industries is strongly preferred.
About the Role
Our team is looking for an outstanding Technical Specialist (Enterprise Architect) to join our Workday Presales team. In this role, you will engage prospects and customers to deliver the technical aspects of strategic selling engagements. This includes leading interactive discovery sessions to learn more about our prospects and customers, demonstrating how Workday enterprise applications address requirements and business needs, supporting the business case or case for change, and articulating the value of Workday's platform to audiences at all levels of technical depth and with executive stakeholders. In this role, you will have the opportunity to represent and sell a world-class cloud-native SaaS offering to mission-critical organizations. To be successful in this role, the candidate must have solid problem-solving skills, extensive knowledge of cloud computing technologies and security standards, understanding of system development/integrations, and familiarity with road mapping.
Knowledge and experience selling enterprise Software as a Service (SaaS) to industries (Public Sector, Federal, State/Local Government, Higher Education, Healthcare, Healthcare Payor, and/or Non-Profit).
Knowledge and experience in cloud technology, implementation (or supporting), integrations, reporting, analytics, and security of newly designed systems as well as legacy within a cloud environment.
Knowledge of industry standard security, privacy, performance, support practices and protocols such as ISO Certifications (ISO 27001, ISO 27017, ISO 27018, ISO 27701)
Knowledge of the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP®)
Ability to easily describe the technical architecture of enterprise SaaS solutions and the value, with a preference for knowledge of Workday’s unique platform architecture.
Ability to compare, contrast, and highlight the advantages of Workday’s architecture to legacy ERP and other enterprise information technology (IT) systems and applications.
Ability to create an engaging experience for all audiences with excellent communication skills and comfort navigating technical, business, and c-level stakeholders.

Solution and value selling throughout technical presentations, demonstrations, workshops, and seminars.
Complete RFPs, RFIs, and security questionnaires in support of sales cycles and opportunity engagements.
Support and drive sales opportunities to close by showcasing the value of Workday.
Support the qualification process with review of demo criteria, business requirements, security/technical requirements, and proof of concept (POC) builds.
Ensure that technical strategies, standards, and practices are applied for consistency of solution design.
Must be able to travel up to 50%
- 3+ years of software presales experience or value-based influential selling experience
- 3+ years of enterprise software, infrastructure security, or enterprise architecture experience
- Proven track record of success in Presales, Consulting, and/or SaaS Implementation
- Software as a Service (SaaS) experience with preference for ERP/CRM knowledge
- Familiarity with integration design patterns, transports, formats, and protocols
- Familiarity with large scale data integration, business intelligence, and reporting/analytics tools.
- Familiarity with technical aspects of system development and integration, with knowledge of performance, scalability, and public cloud options.

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations in the United States (US) are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things.
