About the Team
Spanning US, Canada and Ireland, the UI Platform organization is responsible for the UI technology platform used across the full suite of Workday products. This platform is mission critical and serves some of the worlds largest companies running their businesses on Workday.We are looking for a Software Development Engineering Manager to lead our module platform team. Our framework platform enables engineers to build APIs and functionality using Java and Spring, making software development more efficient and scalable.
About the Role
As the Engineering Manager in Beaverton, OR (hybrid), you will play a pivotal role in the success of our platform and the growth of our organization. You will be responsible for leading a team of engineers, driving innovation, and ensuring the seamless operation of our platform. You will lead by example, leveraging your deep knowledge of Java and Spring to build world class software.
Responsibilities
Assist engineers with career growth and personal development
Work with program managers, peers and team members to set the best technical direction for your team
Develop close working relationships with leadership and Product Management
Focus on quality, while driving efficiency; delivering value, while reducing waste
Champion an environment where communication, teamwork, and collaboration are rewarded
Participate in our 24x7 on-call rotation supporting our applications in development and customer environments

About You
Basic Qualifications
6+ years of experience in a Software Engineering role using Java
3+ years proven experience leading teams and delivering software in an agile environment
Other Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Experience building server side web frameworks
Collaborate effectively with peers from Product Management, Architecture, and other engineering teams
Experience running and debugging Java and Spring web applications in a production environment
Working experience of software engineering best practices including coding standards, code reviews, SCM, CI, build processes, testing, and operations

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations in the United States (US) are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location.
