About the Team

As part of the Strategic Planning Finance team, you will help us on our mission to enhance Workday’s growth and long term value creation by enabling data driven decisions that drive efficient portfolio allocation and strategy for Workday.

About the Role

The ideal candidate is a skilled collaborator who can build positive relationships and influence at every level of the organization. This person will have a proven understanding of long term financial planning, strong financial analysis skills, and outstanding communication skills. In addition, we are looking for a self-starter and teammate who can roll up their sleeves and become comfortable with a dynamic fast-paced environment.

In this role, you will collaborate cross functionally to collect, model, and analyze data to advise Workday’s long-term financial target setting. This is a hands-on role in the development of Workday’s long range financial model and the steering of critical initiatives. This role will report into the VP of Strategic Planning Finance and is an individual contributor role with potential for direct reports in the future.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with executives and key leaders to orchestrate strategic finance activities (e.g. quarterly exec business reviews) to analyze and drive visibility on our business performance drivers.

  • Lead cross functional finance transformation initiatives; lead end-to-end accountability from vision through planning to impact. Raise & track issues, remove barriers, and drive resolution involving partners and call out to appropriate levels when required.

  • Deliver objective, data-driven analysis to advise business decisions and recommendations, working collaboratively with functional partners (e.g. Finance, Strategy, BizOps, Sales, Product teams).

  • Effectively communicate large amounts of data analysis and present findings and recommendations to executive and senior management.

  • Provide ad hoc support with vitality to our executive team members.

About You

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of proven experience across strategic finance and/or consulting roles (Strategic Finance, Business operations, management consulting, financial services, etc.).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics or related field; MBA preferred.

  • Deep financial modeling experience & analytical skills with a focus on building scalable, repeatable tools & processes.

  • Strong understanding of the SaaS industry, corporate operations structure & cadence, and its success metrics/drivers.

Other Qualifications:

  • Excellent program management skills.

  • Experience working within SaaS industry experience strongly preferred.

  • Enjoys getting into the details and working hands-on with a lot of financial and operational data.

  • Motivated self-starter who can independently address sophisticated challenges and drive resolution; Independently capable of seeking information, solving conceptual problems, corralling resources, and delivering results in challenging situations.

  • Able to both delve into the details & operational tactics and engage on the big picture or overall strategy.

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills demonstrating the ability to synthesize complex topics into clear and concise messages.

  • Comfortable with the rapid business and organizational changes that accompany a high-growth environment.

  • Acute business insight and understanding of organizational issues and challenges, with ability to be relentless and collaborative.

  • Experience building processes working with systems and automated reporting tools (i.e., Workday Adaptive Planning, Workday Financials, Tableau, etc.) a plus.

  • Proven track record to align and coordinate multiple parties to ensure long term timelines are met.

  • Creative problem solver with a bias for action, understanding the value of structure while balancing the need for agility and innovation.


Workday Pay Transparency Statement - United States

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations in the United States (US) are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Recruiters can share more detail during the hiring process. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. Primary Location Base Pay Range: $192,000 - $288,000


Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $159,800 - $288,000
