The Revenue Recognition Team drives accuracy and transparency around revenue recognition to ensure consistent financial reporting. We're a dynamic group of accounting professionals who continue to strive for professional excellence and career growth while maintaining a culture of work-life balance. Our team is excited to continue to be a pivotal contributor to projects geared toward automation and accounting for new entities.About the Role
Become a member of the Workday’s Revenue Accounting Team. We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager that will be responsible for writing technical accounting position papers in accordance with ASC 606 as well as developing analyses to support and operationalize accounting positions. The ideal candidate will be a great communicator with an entrepreneurial mindset who is also excited and energetic about joining a transformative team.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day accounting activities and mentor junior team members of the revenue recognition team
Manage deal review communications between revenue team and Sales, Sales Operations and Legal during contract negotiations and provide guidance and assistance to ensure proper revenue recognition
Collaborate with broader team on completing month-end close activities and accurate reporting of key revenue data
Provide technical accounting guidance in accordance with ASC Topic 606
Document new technical accounting positions in memos and corroborate with supporting data studies
Maintain and update revenue accounting policies and procedures
Partner with order-to-cash cross functional teams (Sales, Legal, Deal Desk, Sales Ops, Finance, and/or AR) to ensure all fully executed agreements are properly booked and recognized in our systems to ensure accuracy in quarterly metrics
Review revenue agreements in connection with deal review process
About You
Basic Qualifications
8+ years related experience in Revenue / Accounting
4+ years in People Leadership / Managerial role
Master’s degree in Accounting/Finance
Other Qualifications
CPA with Big 4 experience preferred
Experience with SaaS/Technology industry preferred
A highly productive self-starter with very strong work ethic
Strong accountability and detail oriented; prepares accurate and timely work product
Ability to work independently and thrive, and be a team player
Strong interpersonal, communication and messaging skills
Ability to adapt to the rapid business and organizational changes that accompany a high-growth environment
Capable of moving between a variety of roles with ease with working with cross functional teams
Understanding of global quote-to-cash business processes and best practices
Advanced skills in Excel, Salesforce, Apttus, and experience using Workday

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations in the United States (US) are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
