About the Team

The Software Development Engineer in the Test Infrastructure team for Workday Analytics is a diverse group of engineers. We spend our time writing code to break software and increase development productivity. At the core, we are responsible for the quality of the software that we ship, and we take pride in doing so. We build and scale our test infrastructure to match the growth of our product, keeping them fast, stable, reliable, and robust, from end to end. We use proprietary and open-source automated testing tools to support our rapid and continuous development/test/deployment release cycles.

About the Role

Workday is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test to join our Workday Analytics Test Infrastructure Team. A successful candidate will be responsible for designing and building test framework and tools in multi-tenanted cloud infrastructure. They will work closely with the Dev/SDET teams to help resolve issues with test infrastructure and tools and build new features in it.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Development, SDET and Product team to identify requirements for test infrastructure and tools and automation frameworks

  • Closely monitor CI/CD release pipeline with actively fixing and triaging wherever necessary along with making suggestions for optimization

  • Drive initiatives towards continuous improvement of developer productivity

  • Build and maintain various test environments used by DEV and SDET across engineering

  • Design and develop new features in Test Infrastructure to support partner teams with their deliverables

  • Help various partner teams with getting their issues resolved

About You

Basic Requirements:

  • 3+ years’ experience developing in a programming language (Python, Java, or Scala or any object-oriented language)

  • 4+ years’ experience developing software in test automation infrastructure and tools

  • 3 years of strong scripting skills (Python, Shell)

  • 2+ years’ experience with CI/CD tools (i.e., Bamboo/Jenkins)

  • 1+ years’ experience with public cloud (i.e., AWS or GCP)

  • 1+ years’ experience with Robot Framework, Selenium, and TypeScript

Other Qualifications:

  • Experience with system design and architecture of testing framework or tools from the requirements

  • Experience in Python, DevOps, test automation tools and infrastructure, with some exposure to Big Data Analytics

  • Experience with Docker containers/ Kubernetes

  • Experience of ML systems with ability to think across layers of the stack is a plus

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills

  • Good understanding of Rest API’s and data frames

  • Ability to work with Git (i.e., GitHub/Bitbucket)

  • Passion for automation, and tools for distributed systems

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Master preferred in Computer Science/Engineering


Workday Pay Transparency Statement - United States

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations in the United States (US) are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Recruiters can share more detail during the hiring process. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. Primary Location Base Pay Range: $110,100 - $165,100


Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $104,600 - $188,800
