Workday’s Financial Services and Insurance (FSI) and Professional Services (PS) Industry team’s main purpose is to deliver Workday’s consulting services and build an outstanding customer experience by delivering engaging and innovative consulting services. About the Role

Job Description

The Payroll Senior Consultant will be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of Workday’s Payroll solution for our Financial Services, Insurance (FSI) and Professional Services (PS) customers and help establish and champion best practices for all deployments. The ideal candidate for this position should have experience within the payroll area in the FSI or PS Industries.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Become an expert in the Workday payroll product suite
  • Provide FSI and PS industry perspective for customer business requirements
  • Ensure FSI and PS best practices are maintained to reflect new industry requirements and trends
  • Perform the following on an engagement: understand client business requirements, configure the Workday solution, demonstrate the configurations through the development of prototype systems, assist the client in testing the Workday solution
  • Serve as a mentor for new payroll Consultants
  • Ensure the client takes advantage of Workday FSI and PS best practices
  • Ensure the client is referenceable once the client is in production
  • Participate in update training and other events that help share one’s product skills with other consultants

About You

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of functional implementation experience in payroll software solutions or systems
  • 3+ years Consulting experience


Other Qualifications

  • Experience implementing Workday, SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, Ultimate Software, ADP, Ceridian or similar applications
  • Industry experience in Financial Services, Insurance or Professional Services
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Strong background in Workday consulting is a plus
  • Ability to build strong customer relationships
  • Experience mentoring others
  • Ability to learn technology quickly through instruction and self-training
  • Passion for customer service.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
  • Strong presentation skills, with proficiency in communicating across internal teams and customers through executive leadership
  • Experience with multiple HCM, payroll and/or financial applications a plus
  • Resourceful and adaptable; you'll be comfortable working in a new role, using a variety of tools with a high degree of autonomy
  • Business analysis and requirements gathering abilities
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time

This position can be remote. Preference will be given to people located near Workday offices.

Workday Pay Transparency Statement - United States

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations in the United States (US) are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Recruiters can share more detail during the hiring process. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. Primary Location Base Pay Range: $110,200 - $165,300


Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $104,700 - $188,400
