Workday's Content Generation Platform enables our customers to perform data analysis, content layout, and content creation with Workday’s data. Drawing on familiar paradigms from the consumer world, this team strives to help our users leverage Workday data at scale in a more familiar and friendly environment.
About the Role
As a Software Development Engineer at Workday, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Java server-side components of our cloud applications. You will work closely with software engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver high-quality products that meet the needs of our customers. The team has members located in Boulder, CO & Pleasanton, CA.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain microservices components using Java and related technologies.
Write well-written, reusable, testable and maintainable code of high-quality.
Collaborate with a team of engineers and product managers to deliver software that meets customer needs.
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
Debug and tackle issues as they arise in production environments.
Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in microservice development and apply them to improve our products.
About You
Basic Qualifications
Software Development Engineer:
- 3+ years of experience with Object-Oriented Design and Programming, data modeling, structures, and algorithms (Java preferred).
- 2+ years of experience building enterprise-level software with a focus on performance, scalability, and security.
- 1+ years of experience of building and testing software using continuous integration and delivery infrastructure (Jenkins preferred).
Associate Software Development Engineer:
- 1+ years of experience with Object-Oriented Design and Programming, data modeling, structures, and algorithms (Java preferred).
- 1+ years of experience building enterprise-level software with a focus on performance, scalability, and security.
Other Qualifications
- Experienced in working and collaborating with diverse teams in a dynamic, rapid growth environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience deploying applications to AWS or other public clouds (GCP, Azure)
- Experience with containerization of software services (Docker, Kubernetes)
- General DevOps experience and familiarity with Infrastructure as code (CDK, Terraform, Jenkins)
- Experience working with TypeScript or modern JavaScript (ES6)

Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
