About the Role

You’ll have the opportunity to work on PEX Search, a newer product built within Workday, on a team that values engineering excellence, quality and care about customers. We frequently collaborate with our customers, Product Manager, UX, design and research to determine solutions that will tackle the problems our customers face and find solutions.

Our services are written in Kotlin (Spring Boot/Webflux) with a React front-end that allows us to build and connect functionalities among multiple productus. We are looking to enhance employee/manager experience in many ways.

As a Software Development Engineer in Team Search, you will:

  • Write and maintain robust, efficient and testable code using best of breed languages, frameworks and tools, including React, Kotlin, Webflux, Elasticsearch, TypeScript, Cypress.
  • Innovate on new features that can reach millions of users.
  • Contribute to technical requirements, in depth code reviews, architecture, and help drive UX / design direction.
  • Work on an Agile Scrum team that delivers on shared commitments.
  • Be open to a hybrid work environment, and work in the office at least 50% of the time to collaborate and create lasting relationships with your team and the wider organization.
  • Be an excellent teammate, be involved in mentoring other team members and placing the team's collective success as the highest priority.

About You

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience with Object-Oriented Design and Programming, data modeling, structures, and algorithms (Kotlin/Java preferred)

  • 2+ years experience with JavaScript, RESTful APIs, and modern front-end frameworks (React preferred)

  • 2+ years experience in working and collaborating with teams with varied strengths in a dynamic, rapid growth environment using Scrum

Other Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience building enterprise-level software with a focus on performance, scalability, and security.

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • Knowledge of XPresso and Internal Code Lifecycle Development in Workday is a plus.

  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and communicate across organizational boundaries.

  • Familiar with virtualisation and build technologies such as Docker, Gradle and Jenkins

  • You see software development as a team sport, and thrive in a highly collaborative, agile culture where you’re always teaching and learning.

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, and the ability to work smoothly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
