The Role:

The Principal People Business Partner at SoFi is a trusted leader and objective resource and advocate for the business and its employees. In this critical role on our People Team, you will partner with our Chief Financial Officer and their leadership team including the Chief Internal Auditor, Chief Accounting Officer, SoFi Bank CFO, and the broader Finance organization. The position leverages strong partnerships across the People function to deliver value-added support that reflects the business objectives and culture initiatives of the organization.

What you’ll do:

  • Advise and support leaders in creating measurable and actionable plans tied to OKRs and business priorities
  • Coach and influence leadership teams through effective collaboration, change management, and critical decision making
  • Use problem solving skills to develop effective solutions for complex problems
  • Utilize your HR expertise to drive outcomes and impact through organizational design and development, compensation, talent management and calibration, succession planning, employee engagement, DEI, and more
  • Use strong prioritization skills to manage competing needs effectively
  • Leverage people analytics, organizational health routines, and other data sources to drive decisions
  • Act as an objective resource and advocate for the business and the employee population
  • Manage employee relations issues with discretion and finesse
  • Serve as a culture driver, living the SoFi values and demonstrate discretion and strong judgment
  • Build strong relationships with all stakeholders
  • Partner closely with People Business Partners and centers of excellence (TA, Comp, People Analytics, etc.) to identify and drive strategic initiatives, efficiencies, best practices, and continuity
  • Use data and coaching skills to drive employee engagement and manager excellence

What you’ll need:

  • 8+ years as an HR Business Partner
  • BA/BS degree in Human Resources, Business or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Experience supporting C-suite and executive leadership teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Proven ability to work cross functionally to manage projects with multiple stakeholders and drive People team outcomes
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with G-Suite and Excel
  • Experience building strong rapport and relationships with the ability to adapt to various styles and situations, tailoring messages to all levels and audiences
  • Ability to quickly understand and deal with risks and opportunities in business situations leading to successful outcomes
  • Experience coaching leaders - developing leaders, influencing action and accountability, and connecting stakeholders with varying interests
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies
  • Agility - the ability to be flexible, adaptable, and resilient
  • Comfortability with using data to drive decision making

Compensation and Benefits
The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, and location.
