We are seeking a skilled Staff Accountant to provide support to the financial department by managing daily accounting tasks. This role will report to the Controller and be a key position in the growth and development of the finance function. This position offers a hybrid work environment, although it is essential for the successful candidate to be based in Miami.
The ideal candidate should possess a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, be proficient in NetSuite, and excel in a fast-paced environment where managing multiple priorities is the norm. We are seeking a self-starter who thrives both independently and as a collaborative team player.
This is a hybrid role; reporting the Miami office 3 days- week
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including journal entries and ledger entries.
- Monitor daily financial transactions and ensure they are recorded correctly.
- Manage the accounts payable process, including timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Handle accounts receivable, tracking customer payments, and following up on outstanding balances.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
- Identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues promptly.
- Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Generate ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as needed to support decision-making.
- Assist in tracking and categorizing expenses, ensuring compliance with company policies and budgets.
- Assist with audits and examinations as necessary.
- Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes and procedures for efficiency and accuracy.
- Implement best practices in financial record-keeping.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and technology, to streamline financial processes and achieve company goals.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree or CPA certification is preferred.
- A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in private equity or startup financial roles.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools, including Excel and ERP systems.
- Netsuite experience and certification are highly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and local tax regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide strategic financial guidance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Proven leadership and team management experience.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be located in Miami, FL and available to work in the office three days a week.
