About the team + role
The Capacity Engineering and Analysis team (CEA) is a dedicated engineering group within Infrastructure Engineering, that is tasked as the guardians of all things around our cloud costs at Robinhood. Join a team that works multi-functionally building critical systems to identify and reduce costs to ensure we optimize for scaled cloud use. The team is expected to continue to expand its scope from observability and cost dashboards to much more as the team continues to grow!
We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join the team and help Robinhood continue to build impressive systems while optimizing our costs surrounding our cloud systems.

What you’ll do
- Design and optimize large-scale systems within the team, making the right tradeoffs for risk and long-term maintainability
- Set up and drive technical directions of the project while mentoring and up-leveling junior engineers on the team.
- Supporting core backend systems for Capacity Engineering and Analysis and other teams within Infrastructure Engineering.
- Partner cross functionally with almost every engineering team at Robinhood to ensure teams are set up for success in regards to their AWS costs.
What you bring
- You have experience in a similar organization that deals with significant scale
- You have successfully led initiatives that have reduced cloud costs
- You have exposure with public clouds, ideally Amazon Web Services (AWS)

The expected salary range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. This role is also eligible to participate in a Robinhood bonus plan and Robinhood’s equity plan.
US Zone 1: $217000 - $255000
US Zone 2: $190000 - $224000
US Zone 3: $169000 - $199000
Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. You can view comp zones for our US office locations in the table below. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.
