About the team:
The preferred location for this position is in or around Robinhood's offices in Menlo Park, CA, or New York City, New York, with in-office work capabilities, as may be required by management.
We're looking for high-reaching engineering manager with high ownership, accountability and independence to lead Crypto trading team. In addition to maintaining the existing crypto product, this team will plan and build the next set of features on our crypto roadmap. In this role, you will drive team's roadmap and deliver them through the team while holding high engineering standards. You will have direct influence on success of Crypto business in Robinhood and help democratize crypto for all.
Your day-to-day will involve:
- Coach and mentor Robinhood's versatile engineers by giving them concrete feedback, setting clear goals, and coordinating project work with other teams and managers
- Build impactful team by adding outstanding engineers to the team, mentor them to deliver on high quality results and help with their career growth
- Collaborate closely with business leader, product managers, designers, data scientist to build roadmap and goals for the team
- Deliver high-quality, impactful projects in record time with thoughtful planning
- Apply technical leadership and expertise to both your team and across engineering
- Improve the quality of Robinhood's products and engineering by refining metrics and establishing processes for improvement
- Collaborate with engineering managers to refine and improve Robinhood's processes and systems for product development
About you:
- 8+ years of experience as a full-time software engineer
- 2+ years experience directly managing backend and frontend engineers
- Shown ability and experience to mentor junior engineers and interns
- Experience with collaboration with product managers and dependent engineering teams in building roadmap and executing with high quality and velocity
- Demonstrates high accountability, independence and ownership
- Strong technical skills and ability to architect technical solutions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in finance a plus

- Experience with Cryptocurrency trading
- Experience with Python, Postgres, and Kafka
The expected salary range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. This role is also eligible to participate in a Robinhood bonus plan and Robinhood’s equity plan.
US Zone 1: $217000 - $255000
US Zone 2: $190000 - $224000
US Zone 3: $169000 - $199000
Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. You can view comp zones for our US office locations in the table below. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.
