The Job At-A-Glance:
Q2 is looking for an Instructional Designer who will provide creative and technical expertise in building interactive and engaging learning solutions for Q2’s employees. We’re looking for someone with a deep understanding of learning systems and the design principles involved in creating digital and in-person learning experiences, rooted in subject matter expertise. Ultimately, your role will contribute to the success of learners by fostering their growth and development through well-designed and impactful instructional programs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the learning journey of individuals.

A Typical Day:

  • Utilize instructional design, adult learning principles and innovative strategies in the conception, design, and development of instructor-led and web-based training experiences.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts on course design and development to translate business content and product information into learner-centered experiences.

  • Apply fundamental research skills to instructional design projects.

  • State instructional end goals and create content that matches them.

  • Maintain projects and organize course documents.

  • Examine training assets to ensure that they reflect an understanding of the diversity of learners and groups of learners.

  • Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games, etc.)

Bring Your Passion, Do What You Love. Here's What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in instructional design evidenced through a portfolio or work samples.

  • Experience creating learning materials for instructor lead courses to be delivered both in person and virtually through conference/meeting software.

  • Experience working in a global fast-paced environment and ability to manage deliverables and workload, with varying degrees of complexity and difficulty.

  • Experience working in the technology industry.

  • Possesses self-management, time management, and solid communication skills.

  • Responsible for ensuring that all security, availability, confidentiality and privacy policies and controls are adhered to.

  • Clear and effective curriculum-planning skills

  • Demonstrated project management skills

  • Solid knowledge of course development software and at least one Learning Management System

  • Critical thinking skills

  • Concrete verbal and written communication skills

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in training and development, and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience where training development was required.

  • This position is based in Austin, Texas and will require on-campus work for a minimum of 3 days per week.

  • Additional preferred technical skills: Intermediate-level expertise in the Microsoft Office suite of applications, Adobe Creatives suite, Articulate 360 product suite, LMS publishing, Camtasia, Descript, 7taps
