The Job At-A-Glance:
The Learning and Development Director is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing Q2’s talent development programs to ensure that the organization's employees have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively today and into the future. This position requires extensive experience in instructional design, adult learning principles, and training delivery, as well as strong leadership, organizational and communication skills. Ultimately, this organization will be driving the creation and implementation of learning and development strategies to help Q2’s success with its goals and objectives.
To support a combined organizational structure consolidating all employee learning, this role will be instrumental in overall design of the learning organization and its operations as well as the full learning portfolio. The range of learning is broad and global in reach and will include the following: Onboarding/new hire, leadership training, team-based learning, technical and product training, soft skill development, compliance-specific coursework. This role will serve as the strategist for learning design and leverage extended team members for regional delivery where appropriate.
A Typical Day:
Develop and implement a comprehensive, enterprise-wide learning and development strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives that will be delivered locally and often through regional teams
Foster vibrant learning culture across the 2300 person+ multi-country organization
Conduct needs assessments in partnership with business leaders to identify skill gaps and development opportunities
Design and deliver training programs, workshops, and other learning experiences for employees at all levels of the organization
Measure and evaluate talent development offerings based on analytics and insights from participants, stakeholders to improve quality and increase efficiency in area of responsibility; report weekly/monthly/quarterly/annually upon progress, attainment, opportunities
Collaborate with other departments to integrate learning and development initiatives into the overall employee experience
Maintain strong innovation mindset by staying up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in learning and development and incorporate them into the organization's programs, using multiple avenues of delivery and sources of content as needed for greatest efficacy.
Manage effectively the distributed team of learning and development professionals including direct management of North America team members
Provide coaching and guidance to support development of learning professionals globally to help foster a strong learning culture worldwide
Partner with and actively manage external vendors, consultants, and subject matter experts to bring in new perspectives and expertise as needed
Build strong relationships with key stakeholders including HR and senior leadership to ensure that learning and development efforts are aligned with business needs and priorities
Bring Your Passion, Do What You Love. Here's What We're Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of 12 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with 8+ years of experience; or equivalent work experience. Typically requires 5-7 years managing and developing employees.
Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and training delivery methods and success in applying those principles in a corporate environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with all levels of the organization
Demonstrated ability to design and implement effective talent development strategies and programs including focus on leadership training
Experience managing a team and providing coaching and development support to team members
Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines
Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in talent development
Strong ability to analyze data and metrics to evaluate program effectiveness, communicate results and make data-driven decisions
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
This position is based in Austin, Texas and will require on campus work for minimum of 3 days per week.
