As a Senior/Staff Engineer in our Ads Organization at PayPal, you will assume a pivotal role as an individual contributor, responsible for building high-impact solutions that drive our advertising platform's success. With a wealth of 10 years of experience, you'll be instrumental in creating 0-1 products, working closely with cross-functional peers, and delivering innovative solutions to market, reaching millions of users. We are seeking a passionate and seasoned engineer who can perform high-quality code reviews, lead by example, and become a foundational member of our development team.

Your day to day
In your day to day role you will
- Technical Excellence: Design, architect, and develop complex software solutions that drive the success of our advertising platform. Leverage your extensive expertise in areas such as TypeScript, Java, and GraphQL to build scalable and efficient systems.
- Code Reviews: Perform and lead high-quality code reviews to ensure that the team delivers robust, maintainable, and secure code. Provide constructive feedback and mentorship to fellow engineers.
- Innovation: Drive the creation of 0-1 products, taking ownership of technical challenges and leading the development of innovative solutions that address business needs.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and quality assurance, to define and execute on the product roadmap.
- Market Impact: Deliver solutions to market that power our advertising platform, reaching millions of users and driving business growth.
- Lead by Example: Set a high bar for technical excellence, best practices, and engineering standards within the team. Serve as a technical leader and mentor to less experienced engineers.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- Work experience (at least 10 years) in software engineering, with a strong emphasis on the ads industry or related fields.
- Expertise in TypeScript, Java, GraphQL, and other relevant technologies, honed over a decade of hands-on work.
- Track record of delivering high-quality, production-ready software as an individual contributor.
- Experience creating 0-1 products and driving technical innovation.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional peers.
- Dedication to code quality, best practices, and continuous improvement.
