Your Way to Impact:
As a Senior Product Designer within the Checkout team, you will help to create meaningful and cohesive end-to-end experiences for web checkout globally. You will work alongside your cross-functional team members to influence decisions and ultimately deliver the best possible online payment experience for our customers and merchants around the world.
At PayPal, Product Designers influence teams to make customer-centric decisions across the product development lifecycle. This includes drawing on data and research to inform design concepts and decision making. We start with asking the right questions and end with optimized, best-in-class deliverables. Our designers are great storytellers, active listeners, technology enthusiasts and experts of their craft.
As a Product Designer you will be the voice of the customer. With some guidance, you will lead project execution and represent specific areas of a product domain. You will establish a network across domains and your cross-functional team.

Your Day to Day:
- Work with cross-functional team members in the execution and delivery of PayPal’s products and services, using a customer-focused, iterative design process
- Create high-quality deliverables on a work stream with some oversight and guidance from a senior designer, within timelines and project requirements
- Leverages and fosters the use of established UX techniques, templates, presentations, and assets in the creation of UX analysis, solutions, and materials
- Work under direction of other Senior designers on complex projects and lead smaller design projects independently
- Create interactive prototypes, templates, and contribute to our global design system
- Play an active role in our thriving, inspiring and fun UX Design practice and culture
- Develop and conduct A/B tests, analyze results, and incorporate findings into design strategies to improve checkout performance
- Use data-driven insights to identify opportunities for checkout improvements, and create design solutions that increase customer conversion rates
- Develop and execute on growth strategies that use design as a lever to increase user acquisition, engagement, and retention
- Work closely with product, engineering, marketing, and other teams to bring growth-oriented design solutions to market.
- A successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience and a background in the study of user experience, design, research or related fields
- Familiarity and experience with standard design, interaction prototyping and user research tools, such as Figma, Adobe CS, Miro is required
- Experience using and contributing to internal design systems is required
- Ability to understand UI and interaction prototyping is required
- Experience designing and implementing A/B tests to measure the effectiveness of design changes is required
- Experience analyzing data to identify trends and opportunities for growth is preferred
- Experience concepting and designing digital interactive for web and native mobile applications is preferred
- General awareness/understanding of technology mediums (e.g., JavaScript, HTML/CSS) including differences between them
- Understanding of latest industry trends and digital payments landscape is a plus
- A BA/BS/Master’s Degree in the field of user experience, research or related field is preferred but not required
