Key aspects of the position include building and enhancing infrastructure and standardizing processes to support business objectives and operational excellence, as well as the ability to attract, motivate, and retain top talent. A key position in the Global HR department, this role reports to the Chief People Officer and is based in NYC.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide strategic input and operational leadership in the design, implementation, administration, and communication of compensation, benefit, and equity plans, programs, and policies
  • Enhance and uphold compensation philosophy; ensure that all practices and programs reinforce pay-for-performance and total rewards perspectives, as well as align with our business strategy
  • Regularly analyze, review, and assess the effectiveness of total rewards programs to ensure objectives are being met. Monitor trends, regulations, and proposed laws to ensure total rewards programs and policies are legally compliant. Leverage competitive market practice and data, plus internal equity, to drive compensation and benefits decisions. Conduct regular job analyses/market pricings and other benchmarking activity to account for local and/or role nuances. Collaborate with international colleagues and external consultants to ensure global alignment, while ensuring internal equity
  • Manage Comp Committee process; agenda, materials and all follow up items for a minimum of 4 meetings per year
  • Set/enhance structures for salary grades/bands, job titling/levelling, merit increases, commissions, and promotions. Ensure base salary and annual variable pay are determined fairly, consistently, and legally based on valid job information, application of accepted methodologies, and individual performance, in accordance with company policy
  • Oversee and project manage annual compensation administration processes, including merit increases, promotion increases, and delivery of annual incentive pay and special bonuses. Apply sound methodologies to guide compensation practices and decisions
  • Design, enhance, and administer long-term incentive plans to promote the attraction, motivation, and retention of talent
  • Support Executive Compensation responsibilities, including gathering and analyzing compensation and financial data, performing comparative analyses to inform design, ensuring stock administration systems are optimized, and overseeing relevant communications
  • Play a key role in crafting total rewards-related materials for leadership and the Compensation Committee. Develop and coordinate relevant proxy content
  • Direct the preparation and distribution of comprehensive communication to employees, including written communication regarding compensation and benefits. Devise training for people managers to promote understanding and the ability to communicate rewards strategies and processes
  • Ensure health and welfare and other employee benefits are delivered in accordance with local laws and company philosophy
  • Forge strong relationship with compensation and benefits consultants and other vendors, HR colleagues, and leadership to support information sharing and best practice delivery. Serve as a subject matter expert on compensation and benefits-related matters. Coach the Global HR team on compensation and benefits subjects
  • Work closely with Finance to accurately forecast and monitor expenses related to compensation and benefits programs and policies on a timely basis

What we’re looking for:

  • 10+ years of global compensation experience

  • Experience in global, publicly traded companies, ideally supporting Board, Compensation Committee, and/or proxy-related needs
  • Comprehensive knowledge of global compensation plan design and administration – base salary, annual incentive, commission, and equity, including deep benchmarking expertise
  • Familiarity with best-in-class HCM systems like Workday or Oracle, and other technologies/tools related to compensation, benefits administration, or outsourcing
  • Understanding of monetary rewards and non-monetary recognition as methods to promote employee engagement and retention
  • Knowledge of accounting, tax, legal, and regulatory requirements governing labor, compensation, and benefits – and compliance filings, reporting, and notice requirements; international knowledge a plus
  • M&A experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully collaborate with stakeholders at multiple levels in multiple functions both individually and within a team to provide the best solution for the business
  • Excellent communication, influencing, partnering, and leadership skills; approachable and responsive

  • Initiative, resilience, precision, and flexibility amidst a high volume of time-sensitive requests and projects
  • Solid coordination, time management, and project management skills with the utmost attention to detail and accuracy
