Flexible Rent is an innovative rent payment solution that aims to enhance the rent payment experience for both residents and property managers. For residents, it provides the flexibility to create personalized payment schedules that align with their needs, making monthly rent more manageable with smaller, more affordable payments. Property managers benefit from the service as it encourages consistent on-time payments, simplifies the rent collection process with payment reminders and support, and seamlessly integrates into existing rent payment platforms.
We are looking for a mid-level engineer to join our team of 5 talented engineers on the Flexible Rent Servicing team. You'll collaborate with product managers and other engineers to create an orchestration layer for handling user rent payments. Your expertise will ensure accurate reporting for our partners and a seamless payment experience for our residents.
Responsibilities
- Above all else, create meaningful value for our residents
- Work with a cross-functional team to plan, build, and support Flexible Rent's monthly enrollment, payment reporting pipeline and money movement systems
- Ensure the accurate tracking of down-to-the-penny money movement
- Participate in daily team processes and learn all aspects of the software development lifecycle
- Collect and monitor operational and performance metrics
- Collaborate via product reviews, code reviews and architecture discussions
- Mentor junior engineers
- On-call for a week approximately once every month and a half

- Possess the ability to solve real-time technology problems
- Are a self-starter and possess strong sense of self-motivation
- Are selfless. Ideas don't have to originate from you in order for you to commit to a path forward
- Value ownership and autonomy
- Fluency in Node.js
- Experience with AWS
Bonus Points
- Experience with CloudFormation or Terraform
- Familiarity with at least one CI / CD tool such as Harness, GitHub Actions, AWS CodeBuild, Jenkins, or CircleCI
- Experience with at least one log/metrics/alerting tools such as CloudWatch, DataDog, Sumologic, FluentD, Prometheus, ELK, or Splunk
- Experience with DynamoDB, AWS Lambda, Security Scanning Tools, AWS Multi-Region configuration, AWS Athena
- FinTech experience (payments, lending, underwriting, ledgering)
