Director of Data Science

LoanSnap is a FinTech company transforming the multi-trillion dollar loan industry using artificial intelligence, cryptocurrency, and blockchain technology. We are a small, smart, and fun team backed by top VC firms. Our two founders, Karl Jacob and Allan Carroll, are serial entrepreneurs whose companies have helped millions of consumers from protecting them from spam to communicating with family members. Karl has raised 23 rounds of financing, created 6 companies from scratch and built products and companies that impact 10s of millions of people. Now we are helping consumers with the largest financial transaction of their lives, buying or refinancing a house using our tech to deliver smart loans that help customers get the right loan for their situation.
Your job will be to lead our data science team and work with our product and engineering teams to:
- Help build industry-leading, data-driven lending products
- Rapidly prototype features and predictive models
- Identify, research, and analyze potential data sources
- Communicate quantitative results and recommendations
- Generate easy-to-understand data visualizations
Success will be measured by how efficiently and accurately you can hire and retain a powerful team that can identify and exploit opportunities to use data to improve LoanSnap lending products and internal tools.
- Finding patterns in data, turning them into features, and building accurate, reliable models
- Working with PMs to build compelling products using data and prediction
- Quickly learning business context and helping the company make data-driven decisions
- Finding and mentoring talented data scientists
