What we need

We are looking for an AI Engineer to contribute to the architecture and development of our cutting-edge conversational AI platform by designing and implementing state-of-the-art approaches for using Large Language Models (LLMs) in conversational AI applications.

What you will be doing

You will design, build, and maintain new and existing components of a conversational AI platform for personal and institutional banking across various languages and locales. The position encompasses the entire scope of designing the AI models that power the conversational AI platform, with a focus on applying LLMs to task-oriented dialogues in the financial domain. You will be conducting applied R&D in a dynamic environment with the goal of making iterative improvements to the performance of the conversational AI models so that they are ready to be deployed to production. Some sample areas of focus include fine-tuning existing LLMs using novel sources of data, designing hybrid approaches that enable LLMs to interact with tools and knowledge sources, and exploring the use of LLMs for tasks such as intent classification and slot filling.

Candidates must have a strong background that includes production-level experience with AI and NLP, as well as a solid command of object-oriented programming. Candidates should be familiar with tuning, evaluating, and debugging NLP systems. Our platform is multilingual, spanning many languages and locales, so the candidate must be comfortable working with diverse language data and should be an expert in the structure and patterns of language.

What you need for this position

  • 3+ years of professional experience with NLP technology
  • Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Linguistics, Data Science, or a related field, preferably with a focus on Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning
  • Experience with training / fine-tuning LLMs using frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
  • Strong proficiency in Java and a solid Computer Science foundation; must be able to write production-level code and understand OOP principles
  • Experience with current research and trends in the fields of NLP and ML
  • Experience with developing multilingual NLP technology, text processing, statistical NLP, and/or conversational agents
  • Experience with Python, JavaScript, shell scripting and/or SQL is a plus
