Who You Are
You’re a passionate data governance expert enthusiastic about building a strong data culture through data organization and governance. You enjoy driving changes that lead to measurable gains in data quality and understanding. You’re able to work effectively in an evolving environment and can adapt effectively as the situation requires. You’re an evangelist within the enterprise and a mentor for data stewards as it relates to best practices in delivering trusted data that is easy to use and understand.
As the Data Governance Lead at Justworks, you will work closely with many teams on the hands-on implementation and oversight of enterprise data governance policies, standards, goals, measurements, and processes. You will work closely with Business Operations and Data Services leaders to improve the quality and value of enterprise data assets, ensuring that our data effectively supports strategic requirements and operational needs. This role is a high-value add, and is a business partner to the full organization by providing effective methodologies, efficient processes, value-added information, and third-party tools required for a healthy data ecosystem.
Primary Responsibilities
Play a central role in establishing an enterprise-wide data governance framework that supports Justworks' business objectives, including overseeing, managing, and developing data management strategies, governance policies and procedures, and data quality processes.
Serve as an expert advisor to the various data owners and leaders on issues related to Data Governance and management.
Serve as a liaison between teams to ensure that data-related requirements for governing data are clearly defined, communicated, and well understood and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning.
Facilitate the development and implementation of data quality standards, data protection standards, and the adoption of routines to support those across the enterprise.
Facilitate the cross-functional decision-making bodies within the organization driving decisions, documenting outcomes, and ensuring execution through projects and business-as-usual efforts.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect, store, and use data in a consistent and compliant manner.
Develop & maintain inventory of the enterprise information maps, including authoritative systems and owners.
Measure and monitor data quality, drive the RCA process and ensure remediation and improvement.
Monitor the effectiveness of data governance with both quantitative and qualitative measures and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
Represent Data Governance to all levels of the organization from senior leadership to hands-on contributors, providing data stewards and other stakeholders with best practices in data governance.

Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years experience in data, in either a business intelligence or analysis-based environment
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in applying and demonstrating impactful data governance program management in more than one of the following areas: data standardization processes, data modeling techniques, data dictionaries, data inventorying and cataloging, metadata standards, data warehousing, data analytics, data mining, data integration, data engineering, and business intelligence.
Experience working with cross-functional teams and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels of an organization
Experience advising on data-driven and evidence-based decision-making, developing analytics products to advanced analytics and emerging technologies.
The base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is targeted at $137,500.00 to $151,250.00 per year.

Actual compensation is based on multiple factors that are unique to each candidate, including and not limited to skill set, level of relevant experience, and specific work location. Salary ranges for positions based in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.
