About Corporate Finance at iCapital:

iCapital is seeking a curious and knowledgeable intern who can demonstrate and practice both their accounting knowledge and soft skills in a professional setting while supporting the Financial Reporting team. The individual will assist with financial reporting, controls documentation, tax, and other ad hoc projects daily. The Financial Reporting intern will be on the Corporate Finance team and report to the Head of Corporate Reporting.

In your internship, as part of the Corporate Finance team, some areas of responsibility may include:

  • Monthly Accounting and Reporting:
    • Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for domestic and internal accounts and entities.
    • Coordinate with third party accountants on monthly journal entries for international entities.
    • Assist with the preparation of financial statements including monthly balance sheets, income statements, statements of changes in equity, statements of cash flows, and intercompany reconciliations.

  • General Accounting and Reporting:
    • Preparation of financial statements for ad hoc investor requests.
    • Assist with the maintenance of accounting records and files.
    • Review and tie notes to financial statements for various domestic and international entities.
    • Join interim audit and accounting policy discussions with third party accounting firm.
    • Assist with research and documentation of GAAP compliant accounting policies.

  • Internal Controls:
    • Support regular review of internal controls around accounting and reporting through controls documentation project.
    • Assist with the preparation of remediation plans for internal control gaps identified.
    • Potentially coordinate with third party firm around testing of internal controls.

  • Tax:
    • Help coordinate internal requests for information required for the preparation of the Company’s federal and state annual tax returns.
    • Assist with various monthly and quarterly tax return preparation and filings for certain states.

The ideal candidate:

  • Highly inquisitive, collaborative, and a creative problem solver
  • Possess foundational knowledge of and/or genuine interest in the financial markets
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to adapt to new responsibilities and manage competing priorities
  • Technologically proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • A rising junior or senior in a U.S. college/university bachelor’s degree program (accounting majors preferred)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Pay Rate: $35.00/hour + relocation stipend and transportation stipend
