About This Role:
We are seeking experienced Property Claims Field Adjusters. This is a hybrid property claim role that will require both field and desk claims handling duties. In this role, the field adjuster will travel locally to customer’s homes, write estimates, and settle claims onsite. This adjuster will inspect all types of losses and handle some claims virtually, while carrying a pending. There will be instances where travel is required to other locations to handle catastrophe claims. This role will be based in the Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX.
About You:
- 3 or more years documented 1st party property claims handling experience.
- You are energetic and can manage a high-volume workload.
- You are a self-managed adjuster that can organize both field and desk claims daily.
- You are detail oriented and will provide our customers with the highest level of service.
- You are very flexible and are expected to handle any type of assignment.
- Ability to travel, up to 50% of the time.
What You’ll Do:
- Adjust all types of claims onsite, to include exterior/roof claims and small to moderate interior claims.
- Interview insureds and review factual information to prepare damage estimates
- Evaluate claims and make recommendations regarding coverage of claims
- Determine liability for claims and negotiate settlements within set limits.
- Perform inspection-only claims and provide scope and photos to inside adjusters.
- Work frequently with our managed contractor partners.
- Coordinate any vendors that will assist in the mitigation, estimation, or repair process.
- Reinspect claims and perform adjusting quality assessments.
- Handle a caseload of desk-adjusted claims of all types.
- Perform underwriting or Hippo Home Care inspections.
- Work with claims leadership on process improvement.
- Train and mentor others.
Must Haves:
- Minimum 3 years of experience handling 1st property claims, to include writing estimates using Xactimate and XactContents.
- Demonstrated experience managing a property claims caseload.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Strong understanding property claims processes, claims quality standards, and claims workflows.
- Hands-on experience interacting with customers either virtually or in-person.
- High level of organizational and communication skills.
- Strong empathetic interpersonal skills.
- Property Claims Adjuster licenses in all required states (or ability to obtain licenses).
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and clean Motor Vehicle Record.

- Must have and maintain a reliable vehicle that is available to travel to locations for adjusting.
- Must maintain auto physical damage, liability and umbrella coverage for any personal auto used for work in such amounts as required by Hippo
- Must have physical ability to conduct the responsibilities of the position (climb ladders to perform roof inspections, carry own materials that can weigh in excess of 50+ lbs., etc.)
- Required job duties are normally performed in a climate-controlled office environment, however, when conducting Field Adjustments candidates must be willing and able to work with exposure to outside weather conditions and perform physical tasks detailed below.
