Platform Engineering Manager - Pangea (Hybrid)

About the Role:
As an Engineering Manager at Pangea, you will lead and manage a team of software engineers to execute on our mission to be the most trusted financial services provider for the underserved. The Platform Engineering team contributes to this mission in the following key areas:
* Improving system scalability and durability
* Improving engineering velocity and outcomes
* Developing and communicating a vision for long term architecture and a roadmap to get there
Responsibilities:
- Manage a cross-functional team of engineers responsible for delivery of platform engineering roadmap initiatives.
- Create and drive plans to deliver roadmap initiatives with milestones and detailed task assignments, and provide regular visibility into progress.
- Responsible for assigning of tasks to engineers, balancing short term deliverables with long term career growth.
- Be both a strong technical leader and a thoughtful people manager.
- Partner with product and engineering leadership to establish priorities and align strategy.
- Manage performance of engineers and recruit new engineers on the team.
- Manage all development sprint related meetings..
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in software development and management roles.
- Experience managing engineers for 3+ years.
- Experience building software/systems for engineers including CI/CD pipelines, shared services, and tooling.
- Familiarity with multiple front end and back end technologies and cloud platforms.
- BS or MS degree in computer science or a related degree.
Bonus Points if you have:
- Experience building software for external customers on a B2C or B2B platform that interacts with payment systems.
