What You Will Do

A Marketing Associate will have exposure to and contribute to the full spectrum of marketing activities at a growing firm, including but not limited to advertising, communications, social media, short- and long-term planning, product launches, employee education, client presentations, virtual and in-person event planning, sponsorships, website management, light design responsibilities, and client and employee engagement. This person will contribute to writing the firm’s press releases, research papers, and more, designing social media graphics and communications, managing website updates, recommending marketing strategy, and drafting and maintaining an ongoing marketing calendar. A strong candidate must be able to deliver the logistics behind each task, for example preparing for attendance at trade shows by ordering necessary elements of a booth, coordinating a panel appearance for an executive, or managing our email distribution list, for example.

While you may also take on responsibilities lying outside of a traditional marketing role, the multifaceted nature of this role creates the opportunity to learn additional aspects of a growing business.

A person who is a great fit for this role has a positive attitude, can work with a global team, and exhibits creativity and curiosity in their work. This person needs strong communication skills for writing, working with others in person and remotely, and working with external vendors. This person is willing to take initiative to investigate issues, troubleshoot, solve problems, and take on unexpected opportunities to contribute to the team. Initiative, drive, and ability to develop relationships and deliver results are critical.

Strong collaboration, communication and relationship building skills are key, as well as a high dose of pragmatism and adaptability. The learning curve will be steep, and the opportunities are endless. As a growing firm in existence only six years, the person in this role will have a measurable impact on our marketing and communications as we move forward.

We are looking for someone who can contribute to our growth in this space with their experience and training.

Skills And Qualifications We're Looking For

Experience & training:
  • Degree or minor or 3+ years experience in marketing and media required OR
  • Degree or minor or 3+ years experience in English / journalism required
  • Minor or basic experience in analytics and working with / displaying data preferred

Interests & abilities:
  • Deep understanding of marketing, including social media, and related analytics
  • Ability to write compelling communication and/or develop persuasive arguments with brevity
  • Comfort with technical writing, grammar, and brevity
  • Eye and capability for light design and attention to detail, including formatting of documents / materials for distribution, social media graphics, etc.
  • Comfort using or ability to learn basic technical tools for marketing like social media analytics interfaces, Hubspot CRM, Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in the fintech industry is preferred, but an interest in fintech is required
