Responsibilities
- Develop, launch, and execute a comprehensive business strategy for Apex’s SaaS line of business, aligned with the overall company objectives and market trends.
- Drive revenue growth, profitability, and cost optimization for your line of business, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded.
- Collaborate with Apex’s product team to define and prioritize product roadmap, features, enhancements, and customer experiences based on customer needs, market analysis, and competitive landscape.
- Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to develop and implement effective go-to-market strategies, pricing models, and promotional campaigns to acquire new customers and expand market share.
- Identify, negotiate, and manage strategic partnerships and alliances with complementary technology providers, distribution channels, and industry associations to enhance product offerings and drive business growth.
- Lead and motivate a team responsible for business development, sales, providing guidance, coaching, and performance evaluations.
- Stay abreast of market trends, customer needs, and competitive intelligence through market research and analysis, and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Ensure compliance with financial industry regulations, data privacy, and security standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, providing regular updates on the performance, achievements, and challenges of your line of business.
- Generate energy to motivate and support continuous learning within the team. Give opportunities for your team to grow their skills and meet their career aspirations.

- Position requires 50%+ time for travel. (We’re a distributed company.)
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in business development, strategic partnerships, and general management within a B2B SaaS firm or line of business.
- In-depth understanding of developing SaaS businesses including knowledge of financial strategies, market dynamics, and operating in regulated environments.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful business development strategies that have driven revenue growth and market expansion.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and industry influencers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Proactive, innovative, and self-motivated individual with a passion for driving business growth and seizing new opportunities.
- A bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field is required. An MBA or other relevant advanced degree is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive experience in a leadership role within the SaaS and fintech industry, with a focus on B2B solutions and business management.
- Strong understanding of the SaaS business model, including subscription-based pricing, marketplace development, customer retention strategies, and scalable product delivery.
- Familiarity with the financial technology landscape, including knowledge of B2B financial services, regulatory compliance, and industry trends.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully scaling a business from the ground up, taking it from a conceptual stage to a viable and sustainable operation.
- Proven track record in driving sales growth and market penetration, with expertise in B2B sales strategies, demand generation, and customer acquisition.
- A master's degree in business administration (MBA) or a related field is highly desirable, providing a strong foundation in business strategy, finance, and leadership
