About the team
Alloy operates in a hybrid-work environment. We look to foster collaboration and community by having our local employees onsite twice a week, and remote employees onsite once a quarter.
What you’ll be doing
At Alloy, we aim to help our clients protect themselves from the rapidly increasing and ever-changing threat of fraud, and our Data Science team is part of the core foundation supporting that effort. With thousands of attributes coming from our portfolio of data partners tied to hundreds of millions of entities across our customer base, we have a massive trove of data assets at our disposal that we’ve only just begun to take advantage of. As the senior technical lead on the data science team, you will be spearheading business-critical internal and client-facing efforts including:
Support the development and enhancement of a suite of models for identifying fraudulent actors
- Set standards for tracking model performance
- Define criteria for when models need to be retrained or replaced
- Help drive client-facing model governance documentation
- Guide decision-making on appropriate algorithms and use cases
Thought leadership around data governance and standardization
- Set standards for feature/variable definitions
- Strategy for expanding coverage across the existing client base
Provide guidance and leadership in roadmap planning
- Define clear actionable milestones for model rollout
- Projections of future support and maintenance overhead
Role Qualifications
Soft skills
- Roadmap planning
- Model governance
- Technical documentation/specs
- Deep empathy for end users and need to provide context and explainability
Technical skills
- 5+ years in real-world production, building end-to-end models and iterations
- Python/R
- Experience with decision trees, gradient boosting, A/B testing, experimentation
- Experience with building models from scratch, iterating, and owning projects end to end

The following range is based on the scoped level within the organization and only for highly targeted geographies: 152k-179k
