Job Title: Senior Underwriter
Department/Agency: M.J. Hall & Company, Inc.
Location: Stockton, CA
Full Time / Exempt
$75,000 to $85,000 Salary
Immediate Supervisor: Manager, Manager – Broker’s Assistants
This role is responsible to the Manager, and Lead Broker(s)
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Manager, Broker’s Assistants, assigned Lead Broker(s), and other assigned supervisor perform a variety of responsible duties related to the solicitation and placement of insurance policies for M.J. Hall’s sub-producers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Take direction from Manager, Broker’s Assistants, and assist designated Lead Broker(s) in all aspects.
Market new and renewal submissions to appropriate markets both binding and brokerage.
Quote on behalf of binding markets.
Assist customers (retail agencies) in handling questions or problems.
Log in quote submissions
Review submissions and prepare proper narratives on operations, losses, and exposures.
Participate in supervised marketing/sales visits to provide customer service and grow book of business as needed.
Issue quote letters and or binder letters as required.
Set and handle suspense’s for required requested items, policies, etc.
Ensure compliance with all binding market rules.
Discuss problems or potential problems with company underwriters, verbally or via email.
Compile all required documentation for the Policy Issuance Department for binding authority business.
Compile all required documentation for SLA filings on individual risks.
Clear understanding of production goals, customer needs, referral process and authority that exists within the position.
Perform other related duties as assigned
THIS JOB DESCRIPTION IS COMPREHENSIVE. HOWEVER, THERE MAY BE ADDITIONAL DUTIES WHICH MAY BE REQUIRED FROM TIME TO TIME.
Education and/or Experience:
Required: High school diploma, current and active Property and Casualty Producer License
Preferred: Two or more years of College and completion of some insurance courses such as INS21, CIC or CISR, AU or CPCU
Active state specific license
5+ years insurance wholesale experience
Technology Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Previous knowledge of Microsoft Teams and Agency Management Systems
Knowledge of TIF documents

Pay Details:
