Job Title: Commercial Lines Marketing Assistant

Department/Agency: City Underwriting Agency

Job Summary:

Responsible for working within the new business marketing initiatives in accordance with objectives and procedures outlined by the VP of Commercial Marketing, and the Director of Sales. Support the Marketing Department’s development efforts to place new business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare insurance applications and supplemental forms in order to prepare marketing submissions to insurance carriers.

  • Gather underwriting information from producer and client.

  • Provide insurance carriers with additional requested information.

  • Obtain Loss Runs

  • Obtain quotes from carriers and carrier websites.

  • Document agency management system

  • Prepare proposals.

  • Maintain marketing logs.

  • Review follow up list daily and take appropriate action.

  • Comply with agency standards, policies, and procedures.

Education and/or Experience – Associates Degree in business, insurance risk management and or accounting & finance. 5 years of business experience, or 3-5 commercial insurance experience preferred.

Computer Skills – Demonstrated strong PC skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of Agency Management Systems.

Other Qualifications – Must be organized, detail oriented, able to multi-task and be efficient with excellent verbal and written communications skills. Must also have the ability to effectively work with others. A positive, team-oriented attitude is necessary to effectively work with a large variety of personalities.

Physical Demands – The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. High finger dexterity while performing data entry 75% of the time. Occasionally lift to 20 lbs.

Work Environment - The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Workstations are cubicles with moderately high sides. Travel is not common however there may be some limited travel required, typically less than 25%.

Pay Details:

Annual Salary: $55,000 - $75,000
