Job Summary:
The Sales Support Specialist is part of the Personal Lines Sales Team and supports sales producers by handling the tasks and details required following a policy sale. This position ensures new policies are set up properly and takes care of any underwriting concerns/issues within the first 90 days of a new policy.
Responsibilities:
- Issue new policies with each carrier as scheduled by producer.
- Send out “Welcome” email and temporary proof of insurance to policy holder within 24 hours of issue.
- Follow ups with clients as needed/requested by producers. Customer Service as needed.
- Document all customer interactions.
- Communicate with underwriters to get an approval on placing new business with that carrier which may not be eligible based on information found during the quote process.
- Work with underwriters to implement a plan to retain policies that are being cancelled due to underwriting concerns for first 90 days of new policies.
- Obtain signatures on trailing documents requested by the agency and/or carrier.
- File documents into AMS as needed.
- Document in AMS by noting the activity, creating suspense’s as needed for follow up and attaching any relevant documents.
- Contact customer within 7 days of issuing to assist with signing applications, verify billing is correct, and policy is in good standing.
- Work with Sales Team to resolve client issues from new business within the first 90 days of policy.
- Verify that the customer has signed their insurance applications whether through carrier or DocuSign.
- Farm book of business for win-backs. Check for companion policies or cross-sell opportunities.
- Create target list out of current customer list to cross sell property casualty in addition to umbrella insurance policies.
- Able to review policies for accuracy and offer improvements in coverage, in addition to options for available. discounts and opportunities for cross selling.
- Ask for referrals from customers with good experiences.
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Requirements:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or the recognized equivalent in experience, required
- Personal Lines Insurance experience preferred
- Experienced with agency management systems (EPIC preferred not required)
- Detail Oriented
- Problem solving
- Tech-savvy
- Excellent phone communication skills
- Positive attitude/friendly
- Comfortable working in team settings
