Job Summary:

The Corporate Accounting Manager will be responsible for corporate financial accounting, financial reporting and analysis, preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements and the general ledger. Duties will include developing, implementing and maintaining accounting systems, internal controls, reporting of accounting data and leading a team of supporting corporate accounting professionals. This position is critical to the coordination of financial reporting with all Acrisure Partners to facilitate accurate and timely financial statement reporting. In addition, this individual will assist corporate accounting and leadership teams with analyzing developing trends and help to develop plans for improvement with local financial teams.

The Corporate Accounting Manager will report to the Director – Corporate Accounting and will be based in our Global Headquarters in downtown Grand Rapids.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the monthly close and consolidation process of the consolidated financial statements (balance sheet, income statement compared to budget and cash flow statement) under strict reporting deadlines.

  • Responsible for the preparation of the monthly consolidated financial statements before they are submitted to the Director – Corporate Accounting.

  • Ensure the integrity of the Company’s consolidated financial statements under U.S. GAAP.

  • Evaluates, develops and maintains accounting processes and policies for Acrisure.

  • Responsible for the preparation and/or review of all corporate/parent company accounting issues.

  • Interface with other third party accounting and consulting firms in support of the quality of earnings and other regular and periodic analysis. Ensure the completeness and accuracy of reporting to equity and debt investors.

  • Provide support and analyses to the external auditors as part of the annual audit and quarterly reviews.

  • Identify and implement appropriate modifications to the Company’s financial internal control structure while maintaining appropriate local decision making and operations for Agency Partners.

  • Ensure the accurate and timely preparation and review of journal entries, account analyses and reconciliations.

  • Evaluate and recommend updates as appropriate to internal accounting controls to ensure the safeguarding of all company assets.

  • Work closely with Company’s Finance and Treasury teams on a daily basis in regards to accounting, reporting, analysis and developments.

  • Assist the Finance team with the annual budget process while working with an extended team involved in the process.

  • Partner across other operational areas to ensure successful onboarding and integration efforts for newly acquired Acrisure Partners.

  • Comfortable “rolling up the sleeves” related to both regular reporting processes as well as strategic, operational, and technical matters.

  • Strong knowledge of commonly used accounting concepts, practices, and procedures

  • Technical skills to include:

    • Advanced Excel skills

    • Broad understanding of GAAP

    • Strong proficiency with PowerPoint, Word, SQL, and general ledger/reporting systems

    • Previous work experience with common general ledger and reporting systems (including Microsoft Dynamics SL, Microsoft Management Reporter, Workday, OneStream)

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years in public accounting or a large multi-national organization or an equivalent background. Insurance industry experience is a plus.
