POSITION PURPOSE
The Senior Accountant – Corporate Accounting position will be responsible for direct assistance with the Corporate Accounting team’s main responsibilities and projects. Duties will include providing assistance with maintenance of the general ledger, posting journal entries, preparation of account reconciliations and execution of the monthly close process. The role also assists with the variance analysis of monthly departmental financial statements as part of the consolidation process, ensuring compliance with internal control processes, assistance with year-end audit preparation, and other accounting duties as assigned. The Senior Accountant – Corporate Accounting will be an integral part of the Acrisure Corporate Accounting team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Accurately complete month-end activities including schedules (prepaids, interest, goodwill, etc.), trial balances, journal entries and general ledger/bank reconciliations.
Assist with the consolidation process through posting Agency Partner trial balance data.
Maintenance of fixed asset system data for all purchases and disposals.
Maintenance of lease management system for all active leases and related activity.
Management of unclaimed property process.
Assist in data compilation for statutory tax filings and quarterly/annual corporate tax filings.
Handle larger volume & complex processes or tasks for Corporate Accounting team & Agency Partners.
Review work of junior accounting staff as required or assigned.
Ability to clean up & research issues as needed or on regular basis.
Assist supervisor with monthly reports and month-end variance review.
Work closely with Company’s FP&A team in regard to accounting, reporting, analysis and developments related to Corporate departments.
Manage workload to complete all activities accurately and within established timeframes and month-end deadlines
Contribute to the development of new or revised accounting systems, programs and procedures (internal controls).

Technical skills to include:
General understanding of GAAP
Ability to research accounting issues with guidance
Strong proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and general ledger/reporting systems
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, CPA preferred.
Minimum 3 years of related accounting experience including auditing, industry accounting or closing activities.
Insurance industry experience a plus.
